The Heart of Our Philosophy
The word Chabad is a Hebrew acronym for three intellectual faculties that guide a person to refine and govern every act and feeling through the deepest dimensions of the soul.
חָכְמָה — Wisdom
The initial spark of insight. That first flash of understanding before it takes shape — the seed of every idea and revelation. Wisdom is the ability to see truth as it is.
בִּינָה — Understanding
The faculty of comprehension and analysis. Taking the spark of wisdom and expanding it, understanding its depth, breadth, and implications for life and action.
דַּעַת — Knowledge
The bridge between mind and heart. Knowledge that becomes so internalized it transforms into feeling, commitment, and tangible action in the world.
Words of the Rebbe
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902–1994), the seventh leader of Chabad-Lubavitch
Remember that in a hall of perfect darkness, totally dark, if you light one small candle, its light will be seen from afar; its precious light will be seen by everyone.
One must go to a place where nothing is known of Godliness, nothing is known of Judaism, and while there, put one's own self aside and ensure that the other calls out to God.
The world will be a better place when we focus on what we can give, rather than what we can get.
Known simply as "The Rebbe," Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson guided post-war Jewry with extraordinary vision. He dispatched thousands of emissaries (Shluchim) across the globe — including to Albania — to ensure that no Jew would ever be alone. His philosophy: every person matters, every act of kindness counts, and "good leaders create followers, but great leaders create leaders."
